Denver’s Best Hard Rock Band Never Looked So Good
Your favorite Hard Rock band, The Threatened, has been hard at work here in little ol’ Denver, Colorado and we’re excited for 2013. We’re actively populating this new website with photos, videos, etc., so make sure you check back often. We have two shows coming up with The Iron Maidens and we’re hard at work in the studio so we can bring you some new tunes. Sign up below for our mailing list too so you can be the first to know when those new tunes drop!
Run to the Hills… (and record drums)!
The Threatened has been writing some new songs and have a handful that we are incredibly pleased with. One is a cover that has been doing so well at shows that we’ve decided to record and release it but we’re not telling you which one. In December we headed up to Evergroove Studio which is located in the foothills of Denver, Colorado. Evergroove is the recording studio owned and operated by our bass player, Brad Smalling, and is the studio we’ve done all our recording and mixing in.
Because everyone in the band has crazy schedules with work, life, and everything else that comes along, we often record individual instruments first with scratch tracks for the rest. For example, when we went into the studio in December, we focused on just getting great takes of John’s drums while Justin did scratch vocals and Scott did scratch guitar.
At this point the drums are tracked and edited (with very few edits – GO JOHN!) and we are moving on to guitars. Stay tuned for an update on the process of tracking guitars and sign up for our mailing list over there on the right-hand side of your screen so you can be the first to know when the songs are released.
Here are a few, fun, panoramic photos from the drum sessions we made with Photosynth. Click on the image and you can move all around and have some crazy fun.
